2010 once again looks as though its going to be busy as the band is constantly growing in popularity. Details of engagements for this year will be updated, as soon as is reasonably practical.

For those who are getting married this year congratulations, if you would like the band to attend, can you please advise us of your requirements for your special day, as early as possible to avoid dissapointment.

Should you require any information, services or bookings, then please make advance enquiries to our Secretary Geoff Mitchell ( see contacts page ) to avoid dissapointment.

If Kernow Pipes and Drums are unavailable, we may still be able to help you by contacting alternative Pipers and Drummers from other pipe bands down here in Devon and Cornwall.

Completed Events.

January 2010, Burns Dinner Dance, Bay Hotel, Newquay

The Bay Hotel in Newquay, held a fantastic Burns Dinner in aid of the Cornwall Air Ambulance. 3 members of the band provided the music and participated with the after dinner speeches, much to the delight of the diners.

Mon 29th March, 1200hrs. Lands End Theme Park

The opening of a new 3D Cinema with a Pirate theme within the complex.The weather was kinder to us this year, we only had Force 6 gales!

Fri 21st May, Sat 22nd May. The Devon County Show.

The band had a great, very hot weekend when we helped City of Exeter Pipes and Drums at the Devon Show. Also taking part was North Devon Pipe Band, Bideford Youth Pipe Band and the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Ceremonial Unit.

Forthcoming Events.

Sat 19th June. 999 Emergency Services Day, Eden Project Parade to start off at 10am

This is a great opportunity to come and see all the various equipement and displays from the 999 Emergency Services from Fire Engines to Helicopters. Also on the day a memorial to all 999 Service personel and Fallen Heroes. The Kernow Pipes and Drums welcomes all pipe bands down in the South West to join in with us on this special day.

Sun 27th June. Trewithen Gardens Fun Day, Probus nr Truro..

This is growing into a well attended annual event in aid of the Merlin Project.

Sat 3rd July, Mevagissey Carnival

The annual carnival and music festival through the town, hugely busy.

Sat 17th July. Whiteford Music Festival, Callington.

This is a first for our band, in what will be a spectacular event.

Thur 29th July. Air Sea Rescue Day. Lands End. PROVISIONAL

This is an event to support and raise funds for the Air Sea Rescue Services and enjoy the Lands End Theme Park. Parade on at 1800hrs

Fri 6th / 7th / 8th / 9th Aug. Edinburgh Pipefest

Pipefest Edinburgh will once again try to achieve a march with over 10,000 pipers and drummers from all over the world, all helping to raise money for cancer and veteran charities all over the world. This year will see the Pipefest Global Challenge, see, www.pipefest.com

Sat 14th Aug. St Merryn Carnival.

Annual carnival march through the town.

Thur 26th July. Air Ambulance Day. Lands End. PROVISIONAL

Sat 4th Sept, Grampound Carnival, nr Truro

Annual carnival parade through the village. Very busy carnival.

Sat 11th Sept, Truro City Carnival

A very busy annual carnival in our capital city.

Sun 14th Nov. Armistice Parade Falmouth

Annual parade from Falmouth Moor to the Cenotaph and return.

Wed 17th Nov, City of Truro`s Parade of Lights

Last years event took the organisers by surprise due to the massive turn out by the general public.
