May we give a warm welcome to all our new members who have joined us in 2008 and hope you all enjoy the band as much as every one else..

Here, the band at the Royal British Legion County Rally in Liskeard, July 2008. A good day was had by all, apart from appalling weather conditions, the event was well attended.

Also in July, half of the band on the battlements of St Mawes Castle on the Roseland Penninsula, after playing for the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. Parade Marshall George Bibby leading the parade of Standards through Falmouth for the Lord Mayors Parade and presentation of new Royal British Legion Standard.

The Lord Mayor of Falmouth, Mr Mike Varney and Falmouth Royal British Legion very kindley invited the band to an afternoon drinks and lunch reception after the very succesfull parade. During the reception the band performed for all present with a rousing finale and everyone singing, whilst Trelawney was played on the pipes.


Hartswell

Here several members looking pleased with themselves after playing for Hartswell Lodge, Derriford in Plymouth.
Once again we will be helping out again this year. Heartswell offer accomodation for carers who have relatives receiving care in Derriford Hospital.

Our newest piper, Nigel Warmington taking the role as Lone Piper on the battlements of St Mawes Castle playing for the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall as they sailed past.

In July we were invited to turn out a mini band to meet and play for HRH the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall prior to naming the new ferry, The Duchess of Cornwall. The ferry runs regular crossings from Falmouth to St Mawes. If you are a visitor to the area, you should not miss out on this trip across the bay.



Not to be outdone by the pipers, the drum team on display at the Polperro Festival, consisted of, and left to right, Chenda Newton, Phil Freil, Teresa Cake, Paul Wilkinson, Vaughan Pickhaver, Kevin Morrow, Andy Morrow, Geoff Mitchell and Tom Wheeler

Question : Why are they all looking so happy?

Answer : Because they are playing with a great bunch of pipers!

The band would like to congratulate Alison and Christian on their wedding and we wish them every success for the future.

Here pipers and lovely bridsmaids at Alison and Christians wedding. Alison is the daughter of our member,Tom Wheeler. We tried to sign the girls up to become pipers but could not pursuade them.
